The Campbellford Fair Board hosted their first Pumpkinfest at the Fairgrounds on Friday October 20th. The evening was misty and dark, the goblins were ghoulish and terrifying, a setting from a horror film for sure but no horror was happening.
Approximately 75 pumpkins were on display in several groups. The winners of the pumpkin decorating contest were as follows:

The entertainment for the night was provided by Pat Kelleher. Amy-Jo Doherty organized the costume parades, one for the children and another for the adults. The Fair Board had a great turn out for both parades.
In the red barn the grade 8 class from Kent School hosted a haunted house on the second floor of the barn. The fundraiser will help with school trips later in the year.
On the main floor of the Red Barn, there was a display of scare crows, face painting and candy floss. Lots of sugar and the ability to stay out late made the night a success in most children’s eyes. Hopefullly, there will be another Pumpkinfest next year.
The next event for the Campbellford Fair Board is the Outdoor Christmas Market, Saturday November 18th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market boosts over 70 vendors and is held outside at the Campbellford Fairgrounds.
