A few thoughts on straightening out the learning curve
More often than not in this space we will take time to comment on various issues, concerns, or everyday goings-on in hopes of finding some fun or perhaps a little humor. But as I sit down to write this, I am fixated on one particularly serious thought. And that is how absolutely upside down and impossibly backward life can be. Exhibit A: as very young students, the last thing on our minds is how extremely important our formal education is and no well-intentioned group of elders has a snowball’s chance in you know where of getting through to us with such a seemingly trifling message. Aside from a complete lack of interest, and the attention span of a gnat, our hyper active young brains are not yet equipped to process such advanced, goal-oriented theory, preoccupied as we are with abstract finger-painting, the alphabet, coloring inside the lines and recess.
